The weather has not been the Mets’ friend this season.Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians has been postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Sunday beginning at 1:40 p.m.Just seven days after their most recent rainout that came after a near four-hour delay at Nationals Park in Washington D.C., the Mets shut this game down rather quickly.Tanner Bibee will is scheduled to take the ball for the Guardians in the first game while ace Shane Bieber will toe the slab in the nightcap at 7:40 p.m.The postponement comes a night after the Mets notched arguably their best win of the season after Francisco Lindor lined an RBI single to right field off of Emmanuel Clase to walk it off in the 10th.The Mets have yet to announce who will start Sunday’s games. The city had them for sure in the 50s, when it was Willie, Mickey and The Duke hitting home runs at the Polo Grounds and the old Stadium and Ebbets Field. Everybody knows we had the Summer of ‘61, when Roger Maris hit 61 for the Yankees and beat The Babe, and Mickey Mantle ended up with 54.But what we have never had, not really, is a Yankee and a Met fighting for the title of home run king of baseball. But we’ve got a fight like that shaping up now between Aaron Judge and Pete Alonso, who are carrying their teams right now as much as they ever have, and who just had some week hitting balls over the fence, nine between them starting on Monday and ending on Friday night. Is all.Once again, the Yankees look like a baseball team named Judge with him back off the Injured List.
