61-year-old man reported missing in Arvada The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a missing person alert Tuesday for a 61-year-old man last seen in Arvada on Aug. 4.Howard BruinHoward Bruin was on foot without access to a vehicle when he was last seen in the 8700 block of Kendall Court. Bruin is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 140 pounds with salt-and-pepper hair and blue eyes. He has a cognitive disability and has previously walked away but returned a short time later.Bruin was last seen Aug. 4 but was heard from his cell phone Tuesday before it died or was turned off.Anyone who has seen Bruin is asked to call 911 or Arvada police at 720-898-6900.Please share this missing senior alert for Howard Bruin who was last seen August 4 in Arvada. Pasadena woman shot, killed following early morning fight The Pasadena Police Department is investigating after a woman was shot and killed following reports of a fight at an apartment complex early Tuesday morning. Police responded to an apartment complex on the 2000 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue around 1:11 a.m. after receiving a call regarding a fight and shots fired. When police arrived on scene, they found 34-year-old Tynisha Houston suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The Pasadena woman was transported to the hospital but later died from her wounds.Police searched the same apartment complex where Houston was found and eventually arrested a suspect. That suspect has been identified only as a 54-year-old resident of Pasadena.Additional details regarding the suspect are being withheld due to the developing nature of the investigation, police said. 78-year-old hiker missing for days rescued A 78-year-old man who had been missing in the Chumash Wilderness area of Ventura County for two days has been rescued, authorities announced on Tuesday.  Calls about Balaji Keshava’s disappearance came in at around 3 p.m. on Aug. 5, officials with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.  According to investigators, Keshava had been hiking with a group of individuals when he somehow became separated from the group near Grouse Mountain. “Dispatchers were able to determine Balaji’s general location using information gathered from the cell phone call he placed after dialing 911,” a VCSO news release stated.  Members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team, assisted by a Kern County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, began their search in the area of Cerro Noroeste where a trailhead was located.
